Product Details

Our rectangular cards are handmade from 100% recycled paper that are embedded with seeds, so they can be planted to grow a variety of flowers, or herbs and vegetables. Each eco-friendly card has a print of original artwork from a South African illustrator or artists.

Let the loving message you write in this card will grow into more than just words for the receiver. Whether it's to say thank you, celebrate a wedding, or congratulate someone, this card will take root in their heart... and their garden!

This card was designed by Anja Stoeckigt, a self-taught illustrator whose work reflects her inspiration from the peculiar, quirky and everyday beautiful. The Paper-Tales range is a colourful collection of weird and wonderful designs aimed at sparking a smile.

Rectangular cards measure 95 x 140 mm. Each unit comes with a locally-produced brown paper envelope made from recycled material, and contains planting instructions for the seed paper. Cards are packaged in a plastic sleeve.

Seed options:
8 seed mix: Alyssum, Poppies, Dianthus, Godetia, Snapdragon, Baby's Breath, Vygies and Virginian Stocks
Companion mix: Basil & Tomatoes

Growing Paper uses only the highest quality seeds we can source, and frequently conduct germination tests at independent laboratories as well as at our own growing rooms. However, seeds are living products and thus we cannot guarantee growth success. Like with any seed or plant, the paper needs to be cared for and properly treated during germination and growth.

As an environmentally-conscious company, Growing Paper is trying our best to go 100% plastic-free. Unfortunately, this is not always possible since plastic alternatives are difficult to source on a larger scale.  Due to circumstances outside of our control, our import order for biodegradable plastic has been delayed since June 2021. Until such time as our plastic-free products arrive in South Africa, we are using Polypropylene sleeves that are widely recyclable.
