What kind of seeds are in the Growing Paper
We have a choice of 3 seed mixtures:
Our herb mix consists of a mixture of Basil and Wild Rocket seeds
Our flower mix consists of a mixture of Alyssum and Poppy seeds
Our indigenous flower mix contains African Daisy and Buck bay vygie seeds
We choose our seeds to be hardy and plantable almost all year round
What is the paper made of?
Our paper is made of 100% post consumer waste paper which is sourced from a shredding company as well as a nearby school.
We add only water to our post consumer waste paper to create the paper pulp from which our handmade paper is made. No chemicals are added during the papermaking process.
Can the paper be printed on?
According to the tests we have done, Growing paper can be printed on using an inkjet printer.
We do however recommend clients to test the paper on a certain printer before planning to do the printing themselves since we cannot guarantee that your specific desktop inkjet printer will give you the desired results.
Because of the nature of the papermaking process our paper may have slight variations in thickness between sheets.

We are still researching and testing various commercial printing options to enable us to print on Growing paper in larger quantities.
Where is your facility located?
We are located in the Boland district on a farm, near Malmesbury. We deliver to the whole of South Africa and make use of the South African Postal Service as Speed Services and Time Freight couriers.

How does the online shopping process work?
Navigate to our “Online Shopping” page
Choose the category/ies you wish to do your shopping in
Select the design you want to purchase by entering a number in the “quantity” box
Repeat the previous steps until you have selected all the products you wish to purchase
Click on “Show Cart” to the right side of the page
Here you can review your shopping list and if you are ready, click on “Checkout” at the bottom of the page
If you are a new customer, please fill in your postal and contact details, if you are a returning customer, please fill in your Username and Password
Choose your preferred shipping address
Choose your preferred shipping method: either “Standard Shipping” (which takes 3-6 business days and is delivered to your postal address)
If you are ready, click on “Confirm Order”
As soon as you have made payment via EFT, your order will be procesed

We make use of Standard Shipping, which takes 3-6 business days (after your order has been dispatched) to be delivered to your postal address (If the order is too large for your postal box, you will receive a notification slip in your postal box for collection of your parcel from your Post Office's counter).

How long will my order take to be dispatched:
Your order will be processed within 48 hours after you have made payment via EFT.
Is there a special method for planting the paper?
As with any seeds, care needs to be taken while the seeds germinate, in other words the plants need to be kept moist and in a warm place where direct sun exposure is available for half the day. It is always a good idea to plant your paper in a small pot/pots for the germination period.

GROWING PAPER LEAD TIME & DELIVERY INFORMATION LEAD TIMES
Growing Paper produces a variety of handmade products. Production lead time depends on availability of stock, time and space available in the production schedule as well as the amount of hand labour involved in your order. We do have a service available to accommodate Rush Orders, please contact us if you are in a hurry.
Lead times given are from artwork sign off until the end of production, excluding delivery.

DELIVERY
Growing Paper uses The Courier Guy for deliveries.
Delivery takes 3 – 7 business days to most destinations.
Your order’s tracking number will be emailed to you, once the order has been shipped.
Shipping Growing Paper products internationally:
We have a lot of experience in sending our products all over the world. Some countries are more strict than others when importing seeds. Please let us know to which country you require delivery and we will provide detail on the necessary permits/certificates as well as delivery rates.
DISCLAIMERS
Growing Paper uses only the highest quality seeds we can source, and frequently conduct germination tests at independent laboratories as well as at our own growing rooms.
However, seeds are living products and thus we cannot guarantee growth success.
Like with any seed or plant, the paper needs to be cared for and properly treated during germination and growth.
As an environmentally-conscious company, Growing Paper is trying our best to go 100% plastic-free. Unfortunately, this is not always possible since plastic alternatives are difficult to source on a larger scale.
Due to circumstances outside of our control, our import order for biodegradable plastic has been delayed since June 2021.
Until such time as our plastic-free products arrive in South Africa, we are using Polypropylene sleeves that are widely recyclable.
